Heavy
balls were used for muscular conditioning in ancient Greek
and Roman Empires. In the 20th century Medicine Balls were
most often associated with military training or boxing gyms.
However the modern Medicine Balls of the 21st Century are
smaller and much more versatile than those of the past and
Medicine Balls are now at the forefront of resistance
training for sports-people and fitness enthusiasts.
Medicine
Balls provide safer non-aggressive resistance than dumbbells
and barbells. This allows more dynamic exercises and drills
to be performed; these would be dangerous with traditional
metal weights.
30 Great Medicine Ball Exercises
is a
reference resource which provides a library of ideas,
exercises and drills when training with Medicine Balls.
Following a brief introduction to Medicine Ball Training, the
thirty exercises on this DVD cover a
range of individual and partner based exercises for general
muscular and mobility conditioning. There are also a number
of more dynamic exercises involving propulsive, throwing and
catching based drills suited for Power, Speed and Agility
Training as well as body conditioning. Runtime ~ 40
